IXDBarcelona Meetup ‘Human Interactions in virtual environments’ @Exipple

On Wednesday in Exipple studio IXD Barcelona had one of their regular Meetups on human-computer interaction technologies and interaction design.

The first speaker was Pascal Landry, specialist in Computer Vision and Human Computer Interaction. He has a PhD degree from the department of Information and Communication Technologies, Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF).

His presentation illustrated his research on how to design videogames to foster physical activity for children – exergames.

For the second presentation we had two speakers. Ciera Crowell and Joan Mora Guiard, both PhD candidates in the Cognitive Media Technologies research group from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF, Barcelona) in the Department of Information and Communication Technologies.

Their presentation focused on their research on designing a full-body interactive virtual environment for target audiences with social deficiencies, such as children with Autism Spectrum Disorder; in order to encourage multi-user collaborations.

What a great day! We are all looking forward to the next one.
